The Graduate Institute of Sustainability Management and Environmental Education, formerly known as the Graduate Institute of Environmental Education, is the first institute and/or department to establish entitled “Sustainability Management” and “Environmental Education” at the institutions of higher education in Taiwan. The institute is led as the pioneering studies with a world-leading authority, with a vision of sustainable development with multiple dimensions and for strategic goals such as “economic prosperity, social inclusion, environmental protection, and cultural diversity”, revealing cross-disciplinary and multi-perspective research directions. The institute also emphasizes the rigor of academic research to publish journal papers, so that the Graduate Employability Indicators have the capabilities to observe the extent of achievement to thrive in their graduate careers, strengthen the planning and execution of the solution to the “Sustainable Development Goals" announced by the United Nations, and aim to develop well-rounded graduates who have the skills to be engaged in lifelong learning and their independent academic researching abilities routinely to encounter resilience to be better demonstrated around the world.
The goals of the Graduate Institute of Sustainability Management and Environmental Education are encouraged life-changing sustainability education courses with participants toward localized and international sustainable development strategy around the globe in SDGs. Sustainability leadership is convened in response to global crisis, thus, providing quality education becomes to develop a sustainable and balanced societies by making higher education accessible to be contributed for a business, community & industry with a future leader. All works will be to eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities to achieve sustainability toward climate action, circular economy, social justice, and business resilience. The faculties and students all get inspired, and take actions in response to the urgent and dramatic challenges the planet faces.
